Vassil Girginov

Vassil Girginov is Reader in Sport Management/Development in the School of Sport and Education at the University of Brunel, West London. Vassil holds a PhD in the field of sport policy analysis from Loughborough University and Masters degrees in European Leisure Studies (Universities of Loughborough, Tilburg, Brussels and Bilbao) and Sport Management (National Sports Academy, Sofia). He joined Brunel from the University of Windsor, Canada. Until 2005 he taught at the University of Luton, England and the National Sports Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria and collaborated with the Bulgarian Sports Union and the National Olympic Committee. His research interests and publications (including five books) are in the field of the Olympic movement, sport management and policy analysis, and Eastern European sport.
