This part concentrates both on the building of organisational and management capacities needed to deliver the goods of sports development (development management) and on the practical activities aimed at meeting the needs and providing the tangible benefits of sports development to various constituencies (management of development). Building organisational and management capacity for the delivery of sports development – Andy Adams

Visions and policies alone are not sufficient to ensure that the needs of various individuals and groups will be met by sports development plans. This chapter concentrates on the building of organisational capacities (social capital) such as core management competencies and skills needed by sport organisations at grass roots and national levels in order to be able to implement and sustain the visions of development.

Networks and partnerships in sports development by Barrie Houlihan & Iain Lindsey
The delivery of sports development is a complex process which involves the resources of many agencies. This chapter discusses the process of forging partnerships between public, voluntary and private organisations concerned with sports development by also paying attention to some of the advantages and challenges involved in this process.

Funding sports development activities by Ian Jones
The delivery of benefits of sports development for individuals and communities is contingent on a number of tangible and intangible resources. This chapter concentrates on a range of approaches for funding/supporting sports development initiatives and their effect on the success of those initiatives.

Accounting for sports development: progress monitoring and evaluation by Cora Burnett
As the delivery of sports development involves a number of agencies and resources it is important to properly monitor and evaluate the progress of various activities in order to ensure their sustainability and improvement. This chapter explores the controversial nature of sports development monitoring and evaluation and suggests methods and examples of best practice.
